Louis Vuitton produces at volume: Monogram canvas is therefore less rare than full-grain leathers, and it's on the leather lines (Capucines, Twist) or sought-after editions that value climbs most. Model, material and condition make most of the price.
The criteria that set the price
- The model. Capucines and Pochette Métis are among the most liquid; the Speedy 25 and Neverfull stay safe, fast-rotating values.
- Canvas or leather. Monogram/Damier canvas is abundant (more measured value); Epi, Empreinte and taurillon leathers, plus collaborations, hold value far better.
- Date code and authenticity. A consistent manufacturing code, regular monogram and clean stitching condition the offer.
- Condition. Corners (the vachette leather patinas), handles, zip pull and lining are examined; vachette patina is normal but weighs on the range.
- Completeness. Receipt, dustbag, padlock and key add value.
